Dartford boss Tony Burman has played down suggestions he may be forced to panic in the transfer market.
Burman added Chelmsford midfielder Ollie Berquez to his squad on Tuesday night.
Having already added defenders Paul Goodacre and Tom Champion, Burman says he will not rush to replace the six players that have left since the end of last season.
Burman said: "I’m actively talking to a number of players. We have got a squad of 16 and are looking to add two or three and then with those we’ve invited to pre-season, we’ll be up to the 20-mark.
"It is laughable what people are saying. As far as I’m concerned, I signed Carl Rook and Michael Shinn last season as I was looking forward to this season.
"For all those people who are going on about us only making a few signings, well I count it as five now. They were signed for this season’s progress.
"The average age of the squad is down to 25 and I’m pleased with the way things have gone so far.
Burman is braced for the departure of Jamie Coyle and John Beales, who are set to snub the offer of joining the Darts for pre-season training, in favour of a move to Blue Square South rivals Bromley to link up again with striker Rob Haworth, who is expected to move to Hayes Lane.
