Dartford manager Tony Burman insists his side are still in the Blue Square Bet South title race despite losing at home to leaders Woking on Tuesday night.

The 3-2 defeat leaves the Darts 15 points off the pace and although they have two games in hands on Woking, Burman’s side have seen their championship odds lengthen significantly in recent weeks.

Having targeted a play-off charge in pre-season, the Dartford boss (pictured) admits it will be difficult to secure automatic promotion by catching the Cards but he knows there is enough time for the tables to turn.

He said: "You never say never until it’s mathematically impossible. I can’t believe some people are saying it’s over in December.

"Tuesday’s game doesn’t mean we’re going to lose the league or that Woking are going to win the league. Lots of things happen every week and every month and we’ll fight as much as we can. We’ve got to try to catch Welling (in second) and Woking but it’s going to be tough."
