Tony Burman has started the process of looking for new additions – but won’t be blowing his budget early.
The Dartford boss (pictured) has now signed up 11 of last season’s squad, with two more considering contract offers and is keen to take his time before bringing new players in.
He said: "We need to strengthen the squad in certain areas but this year we might have to be patient.
"We have had a hell of a lot of players contact us but there are still going to be good players available in August and so we won’t be rushing into signing the first players who phone up.
"We have got some targets and I will be doing my best to bring in the best players we can afford."
Burman will be looking to strengthen defensively, with a central defender a priority, while he is also keen to strengthen his forward line.
Woking, who went up as champions from Blue Square Bet South, have already moved to sign Welling duo Jack Parkinson and Loick Pires but Burman’s immediate focus has been on last season’s players.
He announced his retained list on Tuesday and has kept the majority of his promotion-winning side.
