Dartford manager Tony Burman admitted he thought his side’s superb unbeaten league run was at an end in Tuesday night’s win over Tooting & Mitcham.

The Darts were 2-0 down inside 25 minutes at Princes Park but produced a stirring comeback to record a 3-2 win and go eight points clear at the top of Ryman League Premier Division with two games in hand.

Burman said: "When you’re 2-0 down you start to think the unbeaten record might go. The team were going through the motions in the first half-hour, it was the poorest we have played all season.

"But we had a good talk at half-time and I gave them some constructive criticism and then we were better in the second half, although still not where I want us to be.

"You can’t fault the desire and commitment of the players, they knew they had been poor and they set about changing it."

Dartford host AFC Hornchurch to Princes Park on Saturday.

Burman said: "Hornchurch have made some signings and their results have changed dramatically. They are always difficult opponents and will want to be the first team to beat us."

Allan Tait and James White are in line for a return after injury, while Danny Dafter returns from suspension.
