A town centre will be welcoming its fifth charity shop by the end of the year.
ellenor Hospice will be replacing part of a unit vacated by Boots pharmacy in Swanley Square shopping centre.
There are already four charity shops in the town centre – YMCA, Marie Curie, DEBRA and Rural Age Concern Darent Valley.
Works are currently taking place on the new shop, which will take up about two thirds of the former pharmacy.
It will be open between 9am and 4.30pm, between Monday and Saturday, and will be shut on Sundays.
The charity shop is expected to open next month, however an official date has not yet been announced.
The ellenor hospice service is a specialist palliative care provider for adults and children in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, and children only across Bexley.
It already has seven locations across Kent, including in Dartford, Gravesend, Swanscombe and New Ash Green – with plans for a Strood store in the future.
It also has charity shops in south east London in Bexley, Blackfen, Crayford and Welling.
ellenor’s new wellbeing centre in Northfleet will be opening on Wednesday, November 20.
In August a major milestone was reached as the last tile was placed on the roof of the new wing in Coldharbour Road.
