Traffic held on M25 between Stone and Dartford due to ‘police incident’

A police incident on the M25, which resulted in traffic being held in both directions, has now been cleared.

Drivers faced delays between Junction 1b for Stone and Junction 1a for Dartford and the Crossing after reports of concern for a woman’s welfare.

National Highways said police were sent to the scene along with highways officers.

A police spokesman said: “We attended a location on the A282, following a report at 2.40pm of concern for the welfare of a woman.

“Temporary road closures were enforced a precaution.

“The woman has now been safely passed into the care of health professionals and the roads will be reopened.”
