Stephen Vaughan, of East Hill, Dartford, said: “It’s not what you expect to see as you’re strolling along next to the river.

“Some people thought it might have blown there but there hasn’t been any wind. Unfortunately I fear it’s just been dumped.

“It was a big trampoline too. My dog decided to swim under it.”

The abandoned metal structure was found on Saturday (September 9) at a popular site for children to paddle on hot days and was still there days later.

The unusual discovery comes just weeks after empty boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts were also found strewn in the same river.

More than 20 of the boxes, as well as a rusty shopping trolley, were found near a Krispy Kreme processing factory in Hawley Road on the Questor Industrial Estate.
