A 35-year-old man is to go on trial accused of attempting to murder a woman with a knife.

Polish national Andrzej Kitrys appeared by prison video link at Maidstone Crown Court today to plead not guilty to the attack, which allegedly took place on Saturday, October 8.

Armed police were sent to a residential address in Kirby Road, Dartford, shortly after 2am.

The victim suffered several injuries and was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Kitrys was remanded in custody and his trial, which is expected to take seven days, is due to begin on March 6.

Police are believed to have retrieved a knife and carried out blood tests.
