A number of Kent schools have been included in The Sunday Times 'Parent Power' Schools Guide this year.
Parent Power identifies the highest-achieving schools in the UK, and is a guide to secondary schools which uses the first post-pandemic set of results for state and independent schools.
In the guide, 1,600 schools can be searched by name, local authority, town and postcode, allowing families to find the best school in their area.
Dartford Grammar School was ranked as the fourth top state secondary school in the southeast.
They had 96.1% of A*-B grades at A-level, and 81.2% of A*-A grades (9/8/7) at GCSE.
The school's national rank this year is 16th.
Tonbridge Grammar School came just below this as fifth in the southeast.
They had 89.4% of A*-B grades at A-level, and 88.6% of A*-A grades (9/8/7) at GCSE.
The school's national rank this year is 21st.
In the list of top 10 independent secondary schools in the southeast, Sevenoaks School came second, and ended up being ranked 6th nationally.
98.7% of students achieved A-level grades of A*-B, and 96% got A*-A grades (9/8/7) at GCSE.
Helen Davies, editor of The Sunday Times Parent Power guide, said: "These have been a challenging few years for teachers, pupils and their parents, and the success of many in our league table is testament to the stamina and support shown by all concerned.
"It is also clear that more attention is being placed on wellbeing and mental health – from meditation rooms to counselling support, even therapy dogs – and schools are being proactive to bring about positive changes.
“League tables are not the only criteria a parent can use when choosing a school, but they are a good starting point. We want to celebrate excellence.
"We want to champion schools that are doing wonderful work. We want our children to be well-nurtured and well-taught. In choosing a school parents are making one of the biggest decisions in their family life, and Parent Power and The Sunday Times is here to help.”
