Sweet-toothed snackers are set to be given the chance to gnaw on the UK’s most expensive biscuit, worth more than £50 each, for free at Bluewater.
McVitie’s are set to roll out their deliciously decadant take on one of the nation's favourite treats, the chocolate digestive, to an audience in Kent this weekend.
Made from ingredients worth £50.79, the "Golden Di-Festive", contains Alba White truffle, premium white chocolate, cream and a pinch of sea salt.
There will be 20 of these gold-leaf covered treats available for free at a trailer at Bluewater shopping centre this weekend for the first to ask.
The trailer comes as part of McVitie’s "Classic vs Quirky" Christmas campaign, which aims to provide snacking inspiration for everyone, from those who like to snack in a more traditional way to those more adventurous.
As part of its whistle-stop tour the biscuit van will be arriving at External Village inside the Greenhithe mall this Sunday from 11am to 8pm.
Shoppers will be able to pick from either Classic options - including Yule Log, The Gingerbread and Mince Pie - or from the funky flavours of the Quirky selection, like Oh Christmas Cheese, Mean Green (complete with guacamole) and Mint To Be, without judgement.
Mark Schomberg, head of chocolate and culinary craft at McVitie’s, said: “Everyone has their own unique way of snacking over Christmas, some like to eat traditional foods, and some like to go more unique.
"This festive season, we wanted to treat shoppers to a truly indulgent take on the fan favourite Chocolate Digestives, in creating a lavish biscuit to celebrate our upcoming Classic vs Quirky trailer.
“While the Classic vs Quirky trailer offers biscuit lovers the chance to choose their perfect biscuit from a range of weird and wonderful components, we wanted to illustrate just how luxurious the humble Chocolate Digestive can be, by using some of the world’s most sought-after ingredients.”
