Firefighters performed a risky manoeuvre in the dark to save an ungrateful dog trapped on a cliff face.
The technical rescue team were called out to the ledge close to Bluewater in Greenhithe at 4.15pm yesterday (Tuesday).
They used safe access equipment, supported by fire crews, and rescued the dog from a ledge which was approximately 15ft down a 60ft cliff face.
But once they had it safe on flat land, the dog ran off into dense undergrowth ran off without so much as a 'woof' in thanks.
Crews spent hours on the rescue, and more time trying to track the canine down, but after a fleeting spot in the undergrowth, it ran off down a road and wasn't seen again.
They left the scene after five hours, at 9.15pm.
