M25 entry slip road shuts from westbound A2 following car fire at J2 of the Darenth Interchange

A motorway slip road has reopened after closing due to a vehicle catching fire.

The M25 anticlockwise entry slip road shut from the London-bound A2 following the fire at Junction 2 of the Darenth Interchange.

The incident was causing delays for drivers from about midday.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “We was called at 1.02pm today to reports of a car alight on the A2 in Bean, near to Junction 2 for the Dartford Crossing.

“Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames with hose reel jets.

“No injuries were reported.”
