Police called after injured horse seen in Wilmington

An injured horse found pulling an empty metal cart through a village has been taken into the care of vets.

Police were called after the animal was spotted in Barn End Lane, Wilmington, near Dartford.

Officers went to the scene along with a vet, who provided medical treatment, before the horse was taken to a local stable.

It happened at 6.09pm on Wednesday.

The horse is said to have since made a full recovery.

However, the animal’s owner has not been traced and officers are asking anybody who recognises it to call them on 101, quoting reference 5-1095.
