Hundreds of fun-seekers flocked to Stone Recreation Ground for the Stone summer fete, which is fast becoming one of the highlights of the summer in north Kent.
A top line-up of entertainment brought S Club Party – featuring Bradley McIntosh and Jo O’Meara from S Club 7 – to the main stage, with support acts Big Brovas, Booty Luv, Total Recall and Beer Pressure providing something to suit all musical tastes.
Further entertainment came from Stagecoach theatre school, which put on a performance of Roald Dahl favourites Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory while there was also a chance to meet Disney Princesses and Dora the Explorer.
There was plenty of food to keep energy levels up as the fun continued all day with rides, bouncy castles and dozens of stalls.
Laura Stelfox, communications assistant at Stone Parish Council, said: “It went really well. More than 5,000 people turned up, the weather was brilliant and S Club were a big hit, along with RoadTrip, who brought a lot of fans from as far as France and Edinburgh.
“The fete keeps getting bigger.”
