A family transformed their Volkswagon camper van to look like a dog for a charity event around the M25.
Katie Harrison and her family, from Dartford, spent days pimping their old VW to join a parade of hundreds of other VWs completing a ciricut of the London Orbital Motorway.
Run the Ring is a cruise of all types of Volkswagens old and new, from cars to campers, to raise money and awareness for charity with a lap of the M25 motorway in convoy.
This was the second year Katie, her partner Brendan Seal and their two children Isla, three, and Bonnie, eighteen months, have taken part.
Katie, 28, said: “We took part because we first saw it last year when the charity was Dementia Adventure which was a cause close to our own hearts as Brendan’s mother had dementia but has now sadly passed away this year .
“We had so much fun we decorated the car, the kids dressed as dogs and the other half dressed as Blippi, as blue and orange are the charity colours.
“We had a fun time and will carry on taking part as long as our VW survives.”
This is the seventh year the event has taken place, which is organised by John Emberton and Amanda Culley who are known as Lord and Lady of the Ring.
The first convoy attracted more than 400 VWs and raised £10k for Teenage Cancer Trust.
The following year 650 vehicles joined the parade.
In total the event has raised more than £256k.
This year’s chosen charity was Dogs for Autism which provides autism assistance dogs to autistic people of any age, anywhere in the UK and aims to train and provide assistance dogs, at no charge.
