Mysterious disc-shaped 'alien' lights appear near the Dartford Crossing and Ebbsfleet International Station

Residents were left dumbfounded after spotting strange "disc-shaped" lights charting the skies over north Kent.

Video footage taken from Saturday night appears to show two bright objects crossing paths near the Dartford Crossing.

In the first few seconds of the clip a blaze of light appears in the night sky before two distinct glows emerge.

The lights then travel in opposite directions before looping around to face each other.

The video taker, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "Strange lights moving around over Dartford Bridge.

"I would like people to see this and possibly offer a solution."

Mysterious objects at Ebbsfleet

It wasn't the first time the mysterious beams of light were spotted in Kent on Saturday.

Spencer Dolman was returning home from a family trip to London when he spotted two floating "dead synced" objects travelling overhead at Ebbsfleet station around 8.30pm.

The 51-year-old said: "It was multi-coloured, purple, blue and red.

"I thought that this was odd as there was no noise only a few buses going past."

The dad posted the short clip online where people speculated as to whether alien activity could be behind the strange occurrence.

But Spencer believes what he saw was likely a drone or other form of silent aircraft.

"Ideas range from aliens, a plane on fire to a sophisticated firework"

"There was no sound from what ever it was," he added.

Stephen Sangster, from Orpington, was also filming the night sky before spotting a strange but similar phenomenon.

He tweeted: "Strange object in the night sky over north Kent leaves residents flummoxed.

"Ideas range from aliens, a plane on fire to a sophisticated firework. Any ideas anyone?"

However, shortly after another Twitter user popped up with an alternative theory.

They matched the timings of the flight paths to G-OFIX, an aerobatic flight team that uses pyrotechnics, which was also in the area at the time of the sightings.
