An elderly man and woman have been taken to hospital after a crash on the A20 at West Kingsdown today.

Emergency services were called to London Road after a smash between a BMW and Citroen Saxo at about 11.30am.

Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free a man trapped in one of the cars.

Kent Police said he and a woman were taken to hospital after suffering shock and injuries described as non life-threatening.

Two Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews were at the scene for around an hour.
