Sevenoaks council launches Voluntary and Community Awards

Unsung heroes who give up their time to improve the lives of others are to be honoured.

Sevenoaks council Voluntary and Community Making It Happen Awards are now in their third year. They recognise residents and organisations in the district which go the extra mile.

This year two new categories have been added – for Best Healthy and Improved Eatery and Best Family Friendly Business – bringing the number of categories to 11.

The categories cover charity projects, clubs, young volunteers, businesses, community champion, lifetime achievement, safety, charities, sports and wellbeing.

You can also request a nomination form by emailing communities@ sevenoaks.gov.uk or calling 01732 227000.

Nominations can be made in more than one category. The deadline is Friday, April 14 .

The presentations will take place on Wednesday, June 14, at the town’s Stag Theatre.
