Dartford lost out in their top of the table clash despite out-playing Woking in Blue Square Bet South on Saturday.
In front of a bumber crowd of more than 2,500 at Kingfield, the only goal arrived after just two minutes through a powerful header from a corner by Alan Inns – who also scored in the Cards’ 3-2 win against the Darts at Princes Park earlier in the season.
Danny Harris went close to a swift response for Dartford – who were playing without injured skipper Elliot Bradbrook – when his shot was deflected narrowly over Aaron Howe’s goal and another effort was spirited away from the goal line soon after.
Harris saw another blast go over and Jon Wallis had a free-kick tipped over by Howe before the hosts rattled Louis Wells’ bar on the break.
Shortly after the half-hour Lee Noble saw a drive tipped onto the bar by Howe, and despite Harris’ follow-up finding the net, it was controversially ruled out for offside.
Harris looked the likeliest to score for the Darts but he spurned a good chance after the break when clean through and despite Mike Cestor being sent off for the hosts for a second booking late-on, there was no way back for Dartford.
Darts remain second, but are 14 points behind Woking, though have two games in hand.
