Dartford woman charged in connection with murder investigation into death of 18-year-old in Newham

A woman from Kent has been charged in connection with an ongoing investigation into the suspected murder of an 18-year-old man.

Detectives are investigating the stabbing and shooting of Abubakkar ‘Junior’ Jah in Newham in 2021.

Police were called at around 2.45pm on April 26, 2021, to reports of an injured man in Coolfin Road.

At the scene, Junior was found suffering from knife wounds. It was later discovered that he had also been shot.

Despite the best efforts of medics he died at the scene.

Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command established some of the suspects are believed to be linked to an attempted murder in Tree Road, Newham, four days before.

Jessica Hilton, from Dartford, was charged on Sunday with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles.

She will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 4.

A further eight people have been charged:

Asad Sharif, 28, of Manor Park, Newham was charged on Sunday, April 9 with murder, attempted murder, two counts of possession of a firearm and conspiracy to steal motor vehicles.

He appeared at the Old Bailey last Thursday, where he was remanded in custody.

Zyon Francis, 23, of Plaistow was charged last Wednesday (April 12) with assisting an offender.

Awadh Saleh, 24, of Plaistow was charged last Thursday with murder, attempted murder, two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a pointed/bladed article.

Dino Hamza, 25, of Newham was charged last Friday with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles.

Both Ahmed Kassim, 30, and Makhil Osman, 23, of Newham, were also charged on Friday with assisting an offender, alongside Marcel Burton, 19, of Lambeth, who was charged on Sunday (April 16) with assisting an offender.

Rio Burton-Devine, 24, of Islington was charged on Tuesday (April 18) with murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

They are all due to attend Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 4.
