A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital after being left seriously injured with stab wounds.

She has since been discharged.

Police have confirmed the 55-year-old was known to the victim and was charged yesterday evening.

A spokesman for the force said: "The incident is being treated as isolated and officers are not seeking anyone else in connection to it."

Fryers appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court today and was remanded to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, May 10.
