Woman taken to hospital with burns after kitchen fire in Claremont Road, Hextable

A woman was rushed to hospital suffering burns to her hands, face and back after a house fire.

The victim, aged in her 50s, was hurt following the blaze, which broke out in her kitchen.

Firefighters were called to the house in Claremont Road in Hextable, near Swanley, at 7.15pm yesterday.

They rescued the woman from the house, and she was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel the tackle the flames, and a fan to clear smoke from the house.

They also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots, before leaving the scene at about 8pm.
