A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A2 this afternoon.

Two cars collided on the London-bound exit slip for Dartford Heath and Wilmington just after 3pm.

Fire crews treated one woman for smoke inhalation before she was taken to a local hospital.

A spokesperson from Kent Police said: "Officers, Secamb and KFRS attended the Londonbound A2 near Wilmington. A woman reported injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

"The road was re-opened by about 5.15pm."
