A budding young model could soon be strutting her stuff alongside princesses at Disneyland.
Hayley Day, 13, has been chosen to compete in the English finals of the Face of the Globe beauty pageant in Hastings this summer.
Success there will see her then head to Paris for the international finals, held in the shadow of Sleeping Beauty’s iconic castle.
“I am nervous and excited,” said Hayley, who lives in Mayplace Avenue, Dartford.
“When I was younger I was asked to do adverts for BHS and Marks and Spencer but I only started doing children’s modelling in February.
“It is something that I really enjoy and my friends are excited for me — some of them have asked to come with me!”
The pageant is not all about fashion, though, with charity fundraising a big part of its mantra.
“It is something that I really enjoy and my friends are excited for me — some of them have asked to come with me!” Hayley Day.
Face of the Globe’s main cause is the Rainbow Child Foundation, a global charity helping underprivileged children and their families by providing education, clean water and more.
Hayley, who attends Haberdashers’ Aske’s Crayford Academy, plans to raise cash by doing sponsored walks, a sponsored silence and cake sales.
Mum Emma, 42, is looking forward to seeing how her daughter performs.
“I had to enter her online and she was chosen out of about 100 girls,” she explained.
“I could not wait for her to get home from school and tell her when I found out she had been selected — obviously I am very proud of her!”
The English finals take place at St Mary in the Castle, Hastings on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August.
