Charlton remain six points outside of the relegation zone after they lost 3-1 at promotion-chasing Middlesbrough.
Patrick Bamford headed Boro in front from Grant Leadbitter's corner in the sixth minute, before Johann Berg Gudmundsson levelled for Charlton after firing a first-time shot past home keeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos on 37 minutes.
However Boro went back in front two minutes after the restart, Jelle Vossen eventually restoring the lead following some fine saves from Addicks keeper Marko Dmitrovic in the first half.
Lee Tomlin completed the win for Boro with a late volley.
The defeat was the first for Charlton under Guy Luzon as they fell to 19th in the table.
