QPR 2 Charlton 1
Charlton caretaker boss Phil Parkinson's first game in charge ended in a 2-1 defeat against QPR in the Championship on Tuesday night.
Dexter Blackstock gave the home side a 17th minute lead, before Therry Racon marked his return to the Charlton side with his first goal for the club on 29 minutes.
Blackstock, who netted the winner when the two sides last met at Loftus Road, then struck the decisive goal after 79 minutes to leave the Addicks empty-handed.
Parkinson felt the result was harsh on side and that the players had given him the reaction he had asked for.
He said: "The lads showed enough and the game should have resulted in us picking up one point, or even three. If we keep playing like we did tonight the results will come.
"I'm so disappointed for the players. They are as honest a bunch as I've worked with as a player, coach and manager.
I told them on that Thursday when they walk through the door [of the training ground] I want them to have their heads held high and ready for the next challenge.
Parkinson made four changes for the game, giving new loan signing Keith Gillespie his debut. There was also a recall for Martin Cranie, while Martyn Waghorn came into the side and Racon returned in midfield following a broken metatarsal.
The home side went in front when Damiano Tommasi broke down the left wing and crossed for Blackstock to score past Addicks keeper Nicky Weaver.
Racons equaliser came after Rangers keeper Radek Cerny and his defence hesitated in dealing with a Hamuer Bouazza cross from the left and he was able to side-foot the ball into an empty net.
Charlton looked the most likely to score a winner with 10 minutes left, and Luke Varney missed a good chance from close range.
But Blackstock stole the points soon after when he headed Hogan Ephraim's deep cross past Weaver.
