Charlton could lose in-form French midfielder Therry Racon for more than a month after he limped off in the 58th minute in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Watford.

The Frenchman is believed to have sustained a broken metatarsal. Manager Alan Pardew confirmed: "We believe Therry has broken a metatarsal and faces a lengthy lay-off."

Pardew also confessed that he is resigned to losing key midfielder Zheng Zhi on his return from Olympic duty in China. West Bromwich Albion are believed to be ready with a £2 million bid and the manager said: "Zheng is due back this week and I have to say that his future is in doubt with us because it looks as though he will have to be sold. We'll wait and see."
