Charlton have granted a transfer request from striker Chris Dickson.
His decision comes five months after he signed a one-year contract extension. The 24-year-old moved to The Valley on March 12, 2007 after Charlton paid £35,000 down to Ryman League Dulwich Hamlet in a deal worth £60,000 based on appearances.
But he failed to create an impact and all his 14 appearances came as a substitute. His one and only goal was a 90th minute equaliser in an FA Cup, third round tie at West Bromwich Albion in January.
But he found success with Gillingham, whom he joined on loan last year, scoring 11 goals in 14 appearances to become the club's leading scorer that season.
His last appearance in a Charlton shirt was as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat at Blackpool on December 6.
Caretaker manager Phil Parkinson disclosed: "Chris is frustrated being out of the first team and has decided that he wants to move on.
"We will listen to any offers for him in January, and if it suits the club and the player, he may well move on to pastures new.
"However, we have a busy Christmas schedule and Chris could be involved at some point."
Dickson has repeatedly been linked with a move to Millwall and could move to Charlton's arch South London rivals.
