Charlton Athletic slipped to 11 in the Championship after being pegged back to draw 1-1 at Nottingham Forest on Saturday – their 11 draw in 20 league games.
Callum Harriott looked to have given the Addicks the points with a 10th-minute strike, only for German midfielder Robert Tesche to snatch a point just before the hour mark.
Tesche lashed a volley high past Nick Pope into the corner from 25 yards to cancel out Harriott’s strike, and Jamie Paterson, Michael Antonio and Dexter Blackstock all had chances to win it for Stuart Pearce’s side in the final half-hour as Forest bossed the second half, with the visitors having been deservedly infront at the break.
Pope dealt easily with the home side’s best chance, a Henri Lansbury drive after good link-up play with Antonio just before half-time.
Bob Peeters’ side had gone ahead when Johann Berg Gudmundsson found Harriott near the edge of the box and the Addicks man drilled a low shot which skidded into the corner, beyond keeper Karl Darlow, with the aid of a slight deflection.
Darlow somehow saved Igor Vetokele’s fine diving header, with Lawrie Wilson’s follow-up blocked by Eric Lichaj as Charlton sought their second.
At the other end Antonio prodded wide and Tom Ince fired over before Tesche returned a Charlton clearing header into the top-corner with interest.
Pope was called-on to deny Antonio and a Blackstock header wile Paterson fired off-target as Forest piled on the late pressure as they sought to complete the turnaround.
Athletic are three points outside the play-off places but have only won one of their last seven league games.
