Charlton terminated the contract of manager Bob Peeters on Sunday evening after just eight months in charge, writes Josh Fordham.

The Belgium signed a 12-month contract in the summer but after no win in nine games, he finds himself the third managerial casualty since Roland Duchatelet took ownership in December 2013.

The contracts of Senior Professional Development Coach Patrick Van Houdt and Performance Analyst Guy Kiala have also been terminated.

Peeters had a good start as manager of the Addicks, leading them to an 11 game unbeaten league run at the beginning of the season. However not being able to post a single victory since defeating Reading on November 8 ultimately sealed his fate.

In total he took charge of 28 games, winning 7, drawing 13 and losing 8.

Bookies have made Guy Luzon 1/2 favourite to replace Peeters. Luzon’s last managerial club was Standard Liege, a club also owned by Duchatelet. Other candidates for the now vacant post are; Rene Meulensteen, 10/1; Tim Sherwood, 14/1; Brian McDermott, 16/1; and Owen Coyle, 20/1.
