Addicks looking for some cup relief

Charlton boss Phil Parkinson has yet to taste victory

Norwich v Charlton

Charlton go in search of some much needed joy on Tuesday night when they travel to Norwich for an FA Cup third round replay.

The Addicks haven’t won a game since October 4 - a club record 18 games ago - and they sit seven points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Championship.

Phil Parkinson hasn’t won a game since taking the reigns as manager but he’s confident that once they win one, more will follow.

He said: “One thing I’ll do is keep working hard and turn things around. This team is better than it’s showing and once we get one win, we’ll win several more on the back of that.”

The first cup game between the sides ended 1-1. Teenage midfielder Jonjo Shelvey had put the Addicks in front but they were made to pay for missed chances as Arturo Lupoli levelled the match.

Parkinson added: “No one wanted a replay but it gives us a chance to work on a team and a formation to try and get that clean sheet we’re looking for. We need more resilience.”

The Addicks manager will have to make changes tonight with an ankle injury keeping Jose Semedo out for two months.

Loanee Jay McEveley has returned to Derby County while fellow full-back Graeme Murty is cup-tied.

Martyn Waghorn is unavailable for selection under the terms of his loan deal and Matthew Spring is also ineligible because he wasn’t signed in time for the first meeting. Nicky Bailey is available again after serving a one-game ban.
