Dartford captain Tom Bonner insists there’s no reason why they can’t go on another winning run.

The Darts have drawn all three home games this year, including Tuesday night’s National League South goalless stalemate with Concord Rangers.

It’s a far cry from their flying start to the campaign which saw them win seven of their first eight league matches.

“We’ve got to realise that we’re the same team that won nine out of our first 10 games, scoring four, five, six goals past teams,” said Bonner.

“We’re the same team, the same players. If I knew what the issue was then it wouldn’t be an issue, but that’s football. It has its ups and downs, we’ve got to stay positive. There’s no magic recipe other than working hard.

“We just need to relax and get a bit of swagger back. We’re the same players, the same club, the same fans, that went on an unbelievable run and I believe we can do it again. We just need that win to push us on.”

Dartford didn’t do enough to beat Concord but almost snatched a morale-boosting win in stoppage time when Jake Robinson’s rasping drive came rattling back off the crossbar.

It was the sort of chance that they needed to go in to reignite their campaign.

“It’s the way it has been going for us recently,” added Bonner.

“The effort was there, all the boys have left everything out there. I’m captain of this football club and that’s the least we expect.

“I think they gave it everything. Confidence is low at the minute and we’re not really getting the rub of the green.

“Robbo got a chance at the end and if he puts that in we’re all delighted with a win and hopefully that can be a catalyst to push us on.

“It just seems like we’re not getting the rub of the green. I’ve been guilty of it myself recently, missing a golden chance on Saturday. I do believe our luck will turn, we’ve just got to keep that effort and application going.”

Despite their stuttering form, Dartford are still in the thick of the promotion shake-up.

They travel to Tonbridge this Saturday and then host Ebbsfleet on Tuesday night, knowing maximum points will be the perfect tonic.

“It’s extremely frustrating,” conceded Bonner. “I said to the boys that we’ve got to keep working hard, out-work and out-battle teams and I genuinely believe our luck will change.

“It might come off someone’s backside. That’s all we can do, keep training hard, keep putting it in and hopefully it starts turning for us.

“There’s about 20 games left - a lot of points to play for. Until it’s mathematically impossible, I’ll keep believing.

“I want Dartford to win this league. It’s going to be difficult because some teams are doing well and we’re not at the moment, but anything can happen in football.

“It can change at the drop of a hat and I still want Dartford to win the league. I’m not looking at that now, we’ve got to keep going game by game and stay positive and believe.”
