Elliot Bradbrook considers making next season his last with Dartford in the Conference Premier

Elliot Bradbrook has confirmed next season is likely to be his last as a Dartford player.

The 28-year-old penned a new contract at Princes Park last week in what was manager Tony Burman’s most important signing of the summer so far.

But the Darts skipper admitted that balancing his work commitments and travelling around the country to play Conference Premier football was becoming more of a strain.

Bradbrook, who works for an investment consultancy firm in London, said: “I had to think more carefully this year. Getting towards the end of the season, I wasn’t 100% sure but after the success of last year, it seemed like the natural thing to carry on.

“I’ve been thinking about it for a while. It’s a difficult situation, balancing playing at this level of football and working as well.

“It takes a lot of time to do that, a lot of family time. Maybe I’m coming to that point in time where I’m thinking about stepping down and moving on to a club with less reponsibility and which takes less time out of me.

“I want to have another good season with Dartford and we’ll see where we are this time next year.”
