Elliot Bradbrook has vowed to bring the good times back to Dartford after committing himself to the club for a sixth season.

Bradbrook was devastated when the Darts were relegated from Skrill Premier at the end of a campaign in which he, in particular, gave everything for the cause.

The skipper said this time last year that 2013/14 would probably be his last season as a Dartford player because his work commitments were becoming incompatible with the long away trips. Even after the Darts dropped back into Conference South, Bradbrook considered walking away, but after time to reflect, he signed on the dotted line once again.

Bradbrook said: "It took a little while to recover from the season. It was brutal, mentally and physically and I just needed to get away, have a break and rethink.

"At the end of the season, I was so drained. I had nothing left. I played for most of the season with various injuries and probably shouldn’t have played as much as I did.

"Physically, it was demanding, and mentally, being the captain and having been through so many good seasons, I feel in touch with the club and want it to succeed.

"Lots of things went through my head. I did say before the season that it would probably be my last for Dartford, purely because of my work comitments. I didn’t feel I’d be able to commit to the travelling for the following season.

"No-one expected the season to go the way it did. I was sure we’d be there (Conference Premier) the following season, that we’d stay up. I wondered if it was right to still be there. These things go through your head when you’re exhausted and that’s why I needed to go away and think about things.

"After a couple of weeks, I had my meeting with Tony Burman and I felt I should stay. I wouldn’t want to leave on that note. Everyone around the club deserves better.

"The aim is to get promoted again. I want to be part of bringing some good times back
to the club."
