Dartford manager Tony Burman is hoping to boost his struggling strikeforce before the loan window shuts on Thursday night.

The four forwards in Burman’s squad have scored just 10 league goals between them this season and now Andy Pugh and Harry Crawford are both injured.

Burman failed to bring anyone in before Tuesday’s 4-2 home defeat to Chester but his transfer talks are ongoing.

He said: "I’ve tried, because the deadline is Thursday but at this moment, I’ve not been able to agree anything with certain people. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for Tuesday’s game.

"I’ll try again. With the injuries we’ve got, I do need to try to get other players in but I’ve got to do it within the budget."

Dartford are three points from safety in the Vanarama Conference and they’re about to start a run of three daunting away trips. Burman’s side go to big-spending Forest Green Rovers on Saturday before tackling Eastleigh on Tuesday and then Wrexham on December 20.

Burman said: "We’ve got a lot of tough games coming up, that’s for sure. We knew that and that’s why it was important to get points from the home games.

"Unfortunately, we haven’t (done that) but you keep plugging away and you keep trying to go forward and do your best, which I’m sure the guys will do. We’ll try to put things right."

Lee Burns (calf) remains sidelined and fellow defender Callum Driver was forced out of the Chester defeat with a hamstring problem.
