Dartford manager Tony Burman was happy to leave Welling with a point on Tuesday night after watching his side fall behind twice.

Goals from Peter Sweeney and Elliot Bradbrook got the Darts back in the game at Park View Road as the derby spoils were shared in a 2-2 draw.

Burman said: "I’m pleased that we’ve got something from the game.

"There’s a little bit of desire and the work-rate’s coming back into it. It’s what our teams are about and, slowly but surely, its starting to happen.

"Fair play to the boys. They’re doing it the hard way but at least they’re doing something."

Nathan Collier played in front of the back-four at Park View Road - and had an excellent game - as Dartford sought to match up their hosts positionally.

Burman said: "Welling are decent in the respect that they’ve got three players in the middle of the park, they play one in front of that little triangle and it’s difficult to pick up.

"We had to change our formation a little bit and I felt we did it reasonably well.

"Sweeney’s a quality player and the fitter he gets, the better he’s going to be. He’s one hell of a good player and he’s made the goal himself, with a couple of one-twos, so fair play to him.

"I’d like to have got something in the second half. It didn’t quite work for us but we’ve come here and got something. I’m pleased with what we’ve got.

"We’ve had a good win on Saturday away at Nuneaton and we’ve come to Welling and got a point, so four points from two games is not too bad."

Dartford's next game is at home to Grimsby Town on Saturday,
