DARTFORD manager Tony Burman insists the club won’t hold back winger Dave Martin from stepping up to the professional game.

The club recently rejected an offer from a Conference side for the 19-year-old, but the player could still leave this month providing the offer is right.

Crystal Palace and Millwall head a number of clubs interested in the youngster and Burman doesn’t want to stand in Martin’s way.

He said: "I’d love him to stay but the opportunity to become a professional footballer doesn’t come along very often.

"We don’t want to hold him back but we do want a fee for him and what we want is not outrageous."
