Goalscoring hero Ronnie Vint says Dartford can use the confidence from their FA Trophy heroics to topple league-leading Maidenhead on Saturday.

The 20-year-old defender was on target in both first round games against Dover, cancelling out the opening goal at Princes Park on Saturday and at Crabble on Tuesday night with near identical close-range finishes after Whites keeper Steve Arnold had spilt corners under pressure in his six-yard box.

Vint had last found the net as Dartford won the Kent Senior Cup final against Charlton in April and he admitted: “The ball fell nicely to me in the box and I got my second goal in three or four days and I haven’t scored in seven months so it was nice.

“It was similar to Saturday. We teach all the boys (finishing techniques) in training. It was nice to get a goal, I’m trying to add more to my game but it’s whether you get on the end of them, isn’t it?”

Vint said the confidence from a 2-1 win away at a team from the division above should help Darts in their quest for a return to the National League.

He said: “Hopefully, we’ll go up this season. We’re doing well in the league, we’re unbeaten in a few games. There are things to look forward to. We’ve got a great bunch here now and hopefully we’ll push on.

“Maidenhead will be a tough game for us. They are top of the league and flying but after a game like this why can’t we go there and beat them? Take the confidence from this forward.”
