Dartford’s injury crisis continued this week and accelerated the deal which brought winger Dave Martin back to the club on loan.

Martin, who left Princes Park in 2007, has rejoined the Darts on a month-long deal from Luton and he played the full 90 minutes against Wrexham in midweek.

The 28-year-old had been a target of Tony Burman for some time and a knee injury to fellow winger Ryan Hayes (pictured) last week forced the manager’s hand.

Burman said: "We’ve been talking with John Still and Luton for a while now, for the last few weeks.

"There was a chance Dave could have been here last Friday but he got injured against Welling (in the FA Cup on November 9) and it hadn’t cleared up.

"Ryan’s injury forced the issue as well. I’m pleased Dave has come in. He’s a player I know well and he’s someone who naturally gets down the left-hand side."

Hayes had his knee scanned last weekend and is set to miss Saturday’s home game against Gateshead, although skipper Elliot Bradbrook's cracked ribs have almost completely healed.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Alan Julian is still struggling with a groin injury so on-loan Tommy Forecast could keep his place between the posts for the Gateshead game.
