Dartford will be looking to bury the memories of last season’s FA Cup involvement when they travel to Chelmsford City this weekend.

A shock defeat to lower-league Uxbridge ended their run in the competition last time out at the first hurdle, losing the qualifying round tie 1-0.

With games against Port Vale and Bradford in the recent past, boss Tony Burman will be hoping for better this season.

He said: “Last year we had a dream draw but it backfired for us. This year we’ve got a team in the same division as ourselves away from home.

“You don’t want to be playing a team in your own league and they have got home advantage but we want to stay in the FA Cup and that’s what we’ll try to do.

“We all know the financial rewards that are on offer but it’s a tough draw and I am sure they think the same. We’ll both be looking forward to it.

“It’s a one-off game. Nothing else matters and we’ll look to do our best and progress.

“We have had some good times in the competition but sometimes it’s the luck of the draw. With last year’s draw we would have expected to beat Uxbridge nine times out of 10 but on that day they beat us."

Burman could have defender Ronnie Vint back available. He was due to have a cast removed off the wrist which he broke a month ago.
