Mat Mitchel-King has played his last game for Dartford.

The central defender, 31, left the club by mutual consent on Thursday having made 61 league appearances for the Darts since arriving at the club in summer 2013.

Dartford manager Tony Burman said: "Mat was out of contract and had some longer-term work commitments and will be joining another club in due course nearer to his place of work and home.

"I would like to say I am really sorry to see Mat go as I have enjoyed having him around and working with him. I would like to wish him all the very best for the future."

Mitchel-King, who played in the Football League for AFC Wimbledon and Crewe Alexandra, was invited back to pre-season training last summer by Burman and later signed a new contract.

He and Rory McAuley were Dartford's first-choice centre-halves this season so there will be a new look to Burman's defence for the visit of Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
