Relegated Dartford bowed out of Skrill Premier with a 3-1 defeat away to Nuneaton on Saturday.

The Darts travelled to Warwickshire knowing their fate had already been sealed by a 3-2 home defeat to Tamworth on Easter Monday.

But they made a good start on the final day of the season. Mikel Suarez was denied by a Gareth Dean challenge after being played in by Nathan Collier.

Tony Burman's side took a 17th-minute lead when on-loan defender Rory McAuley (pictured), playing his final game for Dartford before returning to Cambridge United, side-footed home a Ben Swallow corner.

But that only sparked Nuneaton into life. Louis Moult placed a shot past Alan Julian for the equaliser on 26 minutes, before doubling his tally on 38 minutes to give Town the lead.

Julian saved from Connor Taylor after the break and Kenny Clark went close for Dartford at the other end, but a third Nuneaton goal looked increasingly inevitable.

And it duly arrived just after the hour-mark when Moult completed his hat-trick from close-range after good work by Jordon Cranston.

Dartford eventually finished seven points from safety.
