Captain Tom Bonner knows it will take time for new-look Dartford to find their top form.

The Darts lost their unbeaten record on Tuesday night after losing 2-0 at much-fancied Concord.

Dartford enjoyed more possession and created more chances but were unable to force keeper Sam Beasant into serious action.

“It’s a new team and new management,” said Bonner.

“It’s a fresh start, we’ve had a good start with seven points but it’s new – we’re going to have days like this.

“If you’re not on it then you want to get a point, a point at Concord is not a bad result.

“If we get into situations like this again we just need to be better in our box.

“That hurt bad. I don’t think we were poor, we switched off for two chances and they’ve scored two goals. We got in good positions and it was a tough one as we had the better chances.”

Bonner believes the goals will come for Dartford, happy that they are creating chances even though they are yet to find their shooting boots.

He added: “We had good balls in at set-pieces from Ben Greenhalgh, we just never captialised on it.

“At half-time we thought we had to keep on doing that but we didn’t do enough in the second half to score a goal.

“We know what Alex Wall’s about, he’s scored from a ridiculous angle, it’s a great strike. I want to watch it again and see if there’s thing we could do better but I thought we reacted well.

“We’re getting into good areas. If we weren’t looking threatening then that would be a worry.

“We’ve got to work on it, we’ve got to be more clinical. We’re Dartford and I fully expect us to be challenging for the league.”
