Dartford boss Tony Burman predicts his side will get better and better as the winning post in the Vanarama National League South title chase draws ever closer.

Third-placed Darts closed the gap to four points with Saturday’s 3-1 win over Whitehawk.

On the back of six straight wins, confidence is flowing around Princes Park and Burman said: “We are doing the right things at the moment.

“There’s lots of ifs and buts and lots of things still to go on. We had a good day but there’s going to be more ups and downs.

"There’s a lot left in this season, even though there’s only 15 games to go. We’ve just got to concentrate on what we want to do.

“I’m pleased, we’ve got a good group. They are going to improve and get better as it goes on.”

Saturday’s hosts Gosport (3pm) drew at Hampton on Tuesday night, their first point in the league since early December when they drew with Whitehawk.

Burman said: “They’ve been going through a strange period and probably a difficult period for them. These are the games we’ve got to win and are probably more difficult than playing the teams around us.

“There’s no complacency. We reached our target for January points-wise and we’ve got three on the table on Saturday. We’ll go down there and hopefully get another three.

“If anyone thinks it’s going to be easy they’ve got another think coming."
