A derby double-header awaits Tony Burman’s Dartford as they look to put Saturday’s heavy defeat behind them.

The Darts lost 5-0 to National League South leaders Maidenhead but victory over nearest rivals Ebbsfleet would be just the tonic.

Burman, whose side host Fleet on Boxing Day before heading to Stonebridge Road on New Year’s Day, said: “You have to take the knocks and try and recover from them.

“There are no panic buttons going off. There were some game-changing moments against Maidenhead and they didn’t favour us. On another day we will get those decisions or game-changing moments in another fixture.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game against Ebbsfleet, they are local derbies and we just have to do our best to try and win.”

Burman admits Fleet will be favourites when they meet but knows that the derby tussle will be close.

He said: “On paper, if you look at finances and things like that, we’re underdogs. It is not about that on the day, it’s 11 players playing against each other and we will do our best to win it and I am sure Ebbsfleet will.

“Against Maidenhead, the attitude and the effort was there, just things went against us.”
