Callum Driver was given the chance to earn a new deal at Dartford this summer but the contract offer he received from Maidstone persuaded him to walk away from Princes Park.

Driver made 22 appearances for the Darts in the Vanarama Conference last season but he'll play against them in the renamed National League South in 2015/16.

The 22-year-old said: "I had a conversation with Tony Burman.

"He asked me to come back for pre-season but with the relegation it was a difficult time with pay cuts and different things like that.

"I’d had interest from a few other clubs but Maidstone made me an offer that I felt was good for me.

"It’s a good club with lovely facilities.

"It’s my aim to get back into full-time football and become a pro again and I think Maidstone can help me with that."
