Having to do the hard graft on the road will not phase Dartford, according to midfielder Alex Brown.

Four of Dartford’s last five matches in National League South are away from home – a run they started in style by winning at Gloucester on Tuesday night.

“We’ve got a few away games but it won’t phase us,” said Brown. “We’ll have a great following backing us and we’ll be doing everything we can to win every game.

“Everyone is concentrating on every game as it comes and not thinking about what is going on around us – and at the moment it’s working.

“We talk about it as a team and concentrate on our own game and what we’ve got to do.

“There’s still a long way to go, we’ll take each game as it comes.”

Brown stressed the need for Dartford to start games brightly as they enter the final weeks of the season.

A run of seven wins in eight games certainly suggests they have found top form at just the right time.

“Throughout the season you want to start on the front foot,” said Brown. “There’s nothing worse than going 1-0 down, especially away from home. You’re chasing the game so it’s important to get off to a good start.

“You don’t want to be chasing the game as that’s when mistakes can happen or you leave gaps.

“You want to be hard to beat. We don’t want to concentrate on other teams around us yet, there’s still a lot of football to be played.

“At the end of the season the best team will win the league, whoever has got the most points has been the most consistent throughout the season and hopefully we can be that team.”
