Dartford's Ebou Adams is heading to the Premier League after joining Norwich City for an undisclosed fee on transfer deadline day.

The 20-year-old has signed an 18-month deal at Carrow Road and will link up with City's development squad.

Scouts have been watching the highly-rated midfielder for weeks and Adams is now a Canaries player just halfway through his debut season in senior football.

Adams came through Dartford's academy and stepped up to the first-team squad last summer alongside fellow youngsters Ronnie Vint and Kaka Dembele.

Adams said: "This is a dream come true for me and I’ve worked hard to get here.

"I want to thank Jason Long, Deren Ibrahim and Tony Burman, as well as everyone else at Dartford, for their help. They gave me the opportunity, and that gave me the chance to be spotted by Norwich."

Adams made an instant impact when he was named man-of-the-match for a superb display against local rivals Ebbsfleet on August Bank Holiday Monday.

He gradually became a regular in boss Tony Burman's starting XI and scored his first senior goal for the club in a 4-2 win against Havant & Waterlooville in December.

Darts co-chairman Steve Irving confirmed last month that Vint and Adams were both being watched by big clubs and that interest has now turned into a dream move for the midfielder.

A club statement said: "Although the full details of the transfer will remain undisclosed, suffice to say, this is the best transfer in the club's history and Ebou becomes the first player in the club's history to sign for a Premier League side.

"One element of the transfer is a pre-season friendly with Norwich where we would hope to see Ebou return wearing the Canaries yellow and green."

Adams' move to East Anglia comes seven years after striker Cody McDonald, now at Gillingham, left Dartford to join Norwich for an undisclosed fee.

And he's the second Kent player to move from non-league to the Premier League during this transfer window after Ebbsfleet's Shilow Tracey earned himself a deal at Tottenham Hotspur.
