Dartford manager Tony Burman can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Victory away to fellow strugglers AFC Telford last weekend has breathed new life into Darts’ Vanarama Conference survival bid.

Now they’re eyeing back-to-back league wins for the first time in 11 months when Gateshead visit Princes Park on Saturday.

Three points against the Tynesiders could leave Dartford just two from safety, having been seven adrift last week.

Burman said: "If we could do it, it would give a lot of people that little bit of hope.

"We’ve gone through a really tough spell, a tough run, as a football club, but there is still a glimmer of hope.

"Over the last few weeks we’ve put in some decent performances and all the time that’s happening, we have an opportunity to maybe win some more games and get some more points.

"If we do that, hopefully we’ll put the pressure, that we’ve had, onto other people."

Dartford follow the Gateshead clash with crucial trips to fellow strugglers Alfreton on Tuesday and Aldershot next Saturday.

Burman said: "We’ve got 14 games left but I still feel we need to get another two or three wins very quickly. The sooner they come, and the sooner the confidence comes back, the better.

“We need to get that belief back into the club, on and off the field.

"I can’t put right what’s gone before. I can’t bring those games back.

"I’ve stressed that we’ve got to stick together and I keep mentioning it because now is not the time to have negative opinions.

"I’ll be doing my best to help the players be as confident as they can, to take the shackles off and enjoy themselves.

"I still believe and I’ll try to lift the confidence. If we can win games, the confidence will be there and the belief will be there that we can win more."
