Dartford march into 2016 on a high and manager Tony Burman says fans are starting to believe this could be a successful season.

A nine-match unbeaten run, stretching back to October, has carried Darts to within one point of the play-offs in Vanarama National League South.

They won four of their five games in December and are looking to continue that form at home to Chelmsford on Saturday – having beaten the Clarets in Essex on Boxing Day.

And the mood around the club now is in stark contrast to the aftermath of their FA Cup humiliation against Uxbridge in September.

Burman said: "You can sense and feel that supporters are starting to believe again. They’re seeing now that we are progressing.

"If we missed a chance earlier in the season, a black cloud would come over and people weren’t happy.

"It happens but as long as they see an improvement, they’ll be reasonably happy with the situation.

"We’re on a high because of the results. It’s nice that we can see an improvement in the team and the squad.

"We’ve put ourselves into a decent position but all that matters at this stage of the season is to keep picking up points."
